We, TappCONNECT Inc., operating as Greater Edmonton Taxi Service; Prestige Transportation; Yellow Cab; Barrel Cab; Checker Cab; Prestige Cab; J&P Auto; and Prestige Limo (“we,” “our” or “us” or “TappCONNECT”), are committed to respecting your privacy and to protecting any information you provide to us. This Privacy Statement explains our practices relating to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information through the services, including the App, Website and other services, provided by us to you (the "Services"). Please read this Statement carefully to understand our practices and how we will handle your personal information.

By using our Services, you acknowledge and agree to this Privacy Statement. If you do not agree with this Privacy Statement, please do not use the App or any of our Services.

1. SCOPE

This Privacy Statement applies in relation to the provision of the Services and in particular to your use of, or engagement with, any or all of the following (as applicable):

(a) the TappCONNECT software application (the “App”);

(b) the TappCONNECT websites: www.edmontonskyshuttle.com; www.edmtaxi.com; www.jandpauto.ca; www.leducyellow.com; www.edmontonprestigelimousine.com; and www.sherwoodparkyellow.com (the "Website"); and

(c) any other communications (whether over telephone, email, SMS message or otherwise) between you and TappCONNECT in connection with the provision of the Services.

This Privacy Statement sets out the basis on which any personal information we collect from you or that you provide to us, in connection with your use of the Services. “Personal information” refers to any information that can be used to, directly or indirectly, identify an individual. Information about a business or that is limited to business contact information collected and used to communicate for business purposes is generally not personal information and not covered by this Privacy Statement.

2. HOW WE COLLECT AND USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We will collect and use your information only when we have your consent, which may be express or implied in certain circumstances, or as otherwise permitted or required under applicable law. You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to applicable legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice to us. Please note that withdrawing your consent may limit our ability to provide our Services to you.

(e) To help you efficiently access your information after you sign into your App or Website account.

(f) In the case of phone calls or text messages to us, to facilitate the Services by communicating to drivers your name, number, location, and destination.

(g) To enable and facilitate transportation from your location to your destination.

(h) To delivery of packages you ask us to transport.

(i) To process or facilitate payments for the Services.

(j) To track the progress of your journey.

(k) To remember information so you will not have to re-enter it repeatedly when you use the Services.

(l) To facilitate the provision of App or Website support, pop-up notifications and other services.

(m) To improve the features and functionality of the App or Website to enhance your experience.

(n) To enquire about your user experience, which helps us improve our services

(o) To comply with applicable federal or provincial laws.

(p) To comply with requests from regulators, government entities and official inquiries.

(q) To facilitate the Services being provided to you through utilization of third-party software.

(r) To monitor metrics such as total number of visitors, traffic, and demographic patterns.

(s) To prevent against the corruption and/or loss of your personal information, to ensure the security of our systems and to carry our regular testing to ensure the smooth maintenance of our systems.

(t) For any other reasonable purposes communicated to you or as required by law.

3. HOW WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION

We will never sell your information to anyone. We may disclose some or all of the data we collect from you in connection with your use of the Services to the following third parties:

(a) Service Providers: Service providers who may use this information to assist with the provision and improvement of the Services. In particular, we will share your personal information with the iCabbi Group of companies and their sub processors who provide software support services to us in order to facilitate the provision of the Services to you. Our Service Provider may log certain information concerning your use of the App or Website in relation to activities connected with the use the Services. This information is logged for the purpose of providing the Services. The information gathered is then aggregated and anonymised. From the anonymised information collected, statistics may be compiled in the form of percentages and/or figures relating to users’ interaction with the Services. As a service, certain anonymised statistical information may be supplied to third parties in order to help them understand the likes, dislikes, trends, habits, and behaviour of Service users.

(b) Advertisers: We may provide advertisers with anonymous (not individual) aggregate information about our users. We may also use such aggregate information to help advertisers reach the kind of audience they want to target. We do not disclose information about identifiable individuals to our advertisers.

(c) TappCONNECT Group: We may disclose your personal information to other members of our group, which means our subsidiaries, our ultimate holding company, and its subsidiaries.

(d) Law Enforcement Agencies: We may disclose your information if we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal information to comply with any legal or regulatory obligation or request.

(e) Buyers and Sellers of Business Assets: If TappCONNECT or substantially all its assets are acquired by a third party, personal information held by it about its customers will be one of the transferred assets.

4. PROMOTIONS AND MARKETING

We want to communicate with you only if you want to hear from us and when we have your consent. If at any time you wish us to stop sending promotional information, please let us know by using one of the following methods:

Please be sure to include your full name and the e-mail address you used when you registered with or made a purchase from us. It may take up to two (2) weeks to process your postal mail request, during which period you may continue to receive communications from TappCONNECT, a TappCONNECT Affiliate or third parties. You may also unsubscribe from TappCONNECT email services by using the unsubscribe link situated at the bottom of any promotional message you receive from TappCONNECT.

5. LINKS TO THIRD PARTY WEBSITES

The App or Website may contain links to and from the websites of our partner networks, advertisers, and service providers. If you follow a link to any of these websites, please note that these websites and any services that may be accessible through them may have their own privacy policies and that we do not accept any responsibility or liability for these notices or for any personal information that may be collected through these websites or services, such as contact and location data. Please check these notices before you submit any personal information to these websites or use any such third-party services.

6. STORING AND TRANSFERS OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

Your personal information is stored in Canada. We use service providers who may, however, access and handle your personal information on our behalf outside of Alberta and Canada, including the European Union and the United States. We have agreements in place with those service providers to ensure your information is protected in accordance with this Privacy Statement when it resides outside of Canada; however, the transferred information will be subject to the laws of the applicable jurisdiction and may be accessible by courts, law enforcement, and national security authorities of that foreign jurisdiction. 7. HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We will only retain your personal information for as long as it is required to fulfil the purposes underlying the collection of that information. We will keep your personal information for as long as you use the App or Website or as otherwise required by law or to comply with our internal requirements and policies. We delete your information when it is no longer required.

8. ACCESSING, CORRECTING, AND DELETING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

You may send us an email at privacy@edmtaxi.com to request access to, correct, or delete any personal information that you have provided to us. We may not accommodate a request to change information if we believe the change would violate any law or legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect. We may also need to retain certain information for billing or other purposes identified at the time of collection of the information, or as otherwise required by law.

We may request specific information from you to help us confirm your identity and your right to access, and to provide you with the personal information that we hold about you or make your requested changes. Applicable law may allow or require us to refuse to provide you with access to some or all of the personal information that we hold about you, or we may have destroyed or made your personal information anonymous in accordance with our record retention obligations and practices.

9. AGE RESTRICTION

Individuals under the age of 13 must not attempt to register and/or submit any personal information to us without parental consent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from any person who is under the age of 13. If it comes to our attention that we have collected personal information from a person under the age of 13 who does not have parental consent, we will delete this information as soon as reasonably possible. If you have reason to believe that this has occurred, please contact our Privacy Officer (see contact details below).

10. COOKIES AND AUTOMATICALLY COLLECTED INFORMATION

Cookies are small data files transferred to your computer’s hard-drive by a website or other Internet-connected devices. They keep a record of your preferences making your subsequent visits to the website more efficient. Cookies may store a variety of information, including, the number of times that you access a website, registration information and the number of times that you view a particular page or other item on the website. We use cookies to provide you with a tailored experience when visiting our websites and using our products and services. We also use cookies to understand traffic patterns on a TappCONNECT App, our websites and services, and to authorize access to certain premium or trial content and product features. We use authentication tokens to authenticate users automatically of certain TappCONNECT applications.

Most browsers are designed to accept cookies, but they can be easily modified to block cookies; see your browser’s help files for details on how to block cookies, how to know when you have received cookies and how to disable cookies completely. You should know, however, that without cookies, some of our websites’ functions will not be available and you as user will lose some of the benefits of the website.

We also use these technologies for marketing purposes, and we may use third-party service providers, including Google, to serve our ads to you when you visit other sites on the Internet. You are able to opt out of Google's use of remarketing cookies by visiting Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of these uses by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page.

12. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY STATEMENT

We may make changes to this Privacy Statement from time to time.  The new Privacy Statement may be displayed on-screen or otherwise brought to your attention, and you may be required to read and accept them to continue your use of the App or the Website, or you may be deemed to accept the changes based on your continued use of the Services.
